Through our support of UNLV and Campus for Hope, we continue to give back to the community where we began more than 50 years ago.

Campus for Hope

Like many communities across the country, homelessness has long been a serious issue facing the Las Vegas community. As one of southern Nevada’s largest and most established companies, Boyd Gaming believes it has an obligation to help vulnerable local residents struggling with a lack of a permanent home.

Campus for Hope is a critical community initiative designed to address the root causes of homeness through comprehensive, coordinated services. Set for completion in 2028, Campus for Home will bring together housing, health care, employment resources and coordinated programming into a single Las Vegas location – helping vulnerable southern Nevadans permanently break free of the cycle of homelessness.

As a founding donor, Boyd Gaming is one of Campus for Hope’s largest financial supporters – contributing $5 million to date, and pledging to contribute $5 million more to this vital community initiative.

Our Tech Partnership with UNLV

Building on decades of partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming is the gaming industry technology anchor at UNLV’s Black Fire Innovation Facility, a living laboratory for applied research and innovation in the gaming and hospitality industry. Over the past several years, Black Fire has become a critical venue for Boyd to test new technologies and ideas, while providing invaluable hands-on experience for UNLV students interested in careers in the hospitality industry.

In 2025, Boyd and UNLV continued to build out the “Living Lab” Casino Resort floor at Black Fire, with involvement from both major slot manufacturers as well as start-ups and smaller technology companies. The facility provides students an opportunity to explore hospitality and gaming industry innovations across multiple fields, including robotics, extended reality and artificial intelligence. Boyd’s sponsorship of Black Fire is just one component of a multi-faceted partnership between Boyd and UNLV. In addition to its presence at Black Fire, Boyd is also a major supporter of the University’s International Gaming Institute, Rebels Athletics, the College of Hospitality, and the William S. Boyd School of Law.
