Boyd Gaming continues to make tremendous progress with our waste diversion efforts. This strategic initiative began in 2021 as we focused on finding new ways to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills. Our teams meet on a monthly basis to monitor our progress, identify new opportunities and share best practices throughout the organization.

Over the last five years, Boyd has diverted more than 345 million pounds from the landfill overall, improving our waste diversion rate from 49.9% in 2021 to 70.1% in 2025. Our team continues to achieve year over year improvement and is extremely proud of our accomplishments to exceed a 70% waste diversion rate for the first time in 2025.

Our ongoing waste diversion efforts are also contributing to our ability to reduce the amount of carbon emissions entering into the atmosphere. By diverting 345 million pounds from the landfill, we have successfully avoided 54,500 metric tons of emissions since 2021.
