As President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming Corporation, Keith Smith leads one of the largest and most successful casino entertainment companies in the United States.

An industry veteran with more than 30 years of gaming experience, Smith first joined Boyd Gaming Corporation in 1990. He was promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations in 1998, Chief Operating Officer in 2001 and President in 2005. In January 2008, Smith was named Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming. Smith has also been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since April 2005.

As CEO, Smith successfully navigated Boyd Gaming through the global financial crisis and its aftermath before leading the Company through a period of rapid growth and diversification. During this period, Smith significantly strengthened the Company's balance sheet and positioned the Company for growth through successful acquisitions.

Smith spearheaded Boyd Gaming's acquisitions of the IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi in 2011; Peninsula Gaming's five properties in late 2012; Aliante Casino Hotel + Spa in North Las Vegas in September 2016; the Las Vegas assets of Cannery Casinos in December 2016; Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania in September 2018; and Ameristar St. Charles in Missouri, Ameristar Kansas City in Missouri, Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana and Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio in October 2018.

Smith serves on the Board of Directors of regional airline operator SkyWest Inc., and is Chair of the SkyWest Board’s Audit Committee. He previously served as Chairman of the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; Chairman of the American Gaming Association; Chairman of the Nevada Resort Association; and Vice Chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
