If you’re a team member at a Boyd Gaming property nationwide, with a commitment to Boyd Style and strong customer service, you may be one step closer to becoming your property’s Team Member of the Year.

Department leads at all properties are on the lookout for team members to nominate for the Team Member of the Month, Team Member of the Quarter and Team Leader of the Quarter awards.

Team Member of the Year is selected at random from a pool of the previous year’s eligible Team Member of the Month winners. The recognition is earned during an annual awards celebration.

How can I become Team Member of the Month?

To become Team Member of the Month, you must be nominated by your department lead. A property committee then selects one front-of-house nominee and a back-of-house nominee for each property.

Eligibility requirements to be nominated for the monthly and quarterly awards include:

·         Must be a non-managerial, full-time team member with no supervisory responsibilities; Job title must not include Supervisor, Manager or Director (other than Boyd Gaming corporate offices in Dubuque and Las Vegas)

·         At least 90 days of employment (Team Member of the Month)

·         No disciplinary write-ups within the last 12 months or since date of hire, whichever is shorter (Team Member of the Month)

·         At least 12 months of employment (Team Member of the Quarter)

·         No disciplinary write-ups within the last 12 months (Team Member of the Quarter)

·         Strong customer service skills

·         Team Leader of the Quarter and Team Member of the Quarter are not eligible to win TMOY

Jamie F., an esthetician at Senses Spa & Salon at IP Biloxi in Mississippi, is a past Team Member of the Month nominee who was selected as Team Member of the Year for 2021. One of the most requested providers in the spa and one of its highest retail sellers, she was nominated for consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and spreading that positivity to her co-workers.

Another 2021 winner, Julius M., helps create excellent culinary experiences for guests as the lead cook in the main kitchen at Belterra Park Cincinnati.  A dedicated chef, who takes great pride in the food he serves, he likes to see people smile, especially after they enjoy the property’s food.

What happens if I’m the lucky winner of Team Member of the Year?

Selected at random from past Team Member of the Month winners, the Team Member of the Year from each property wins a ton of great prizes, including:

·         A trip for two to Honolulu, Hawaii or Las Vegas, Nevada for six nights and seven days

·         $1,000 cash award for travel, distributed two weeks prior to departure

·         All ground transportation to and from airports

·         One additional week of paid time off/vacation time

·         Honorary parking at work

The winner will also be recognized with a special name badge, a physical award and a professional photo.
