Par-A-Dice Hosts ‘Worksgiving’ Event to Give Thanks to Team Members


Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show gratitude, and the management team at Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino in East Peoria, Ill. turned an average November Thursday into a feast of thanks by organizing a special “Worksgiving” event. The “Worksgiving” event was a bountiful banquet for team members to know how much they were appreciated over the holiday season and all year long.
“It has been a long year,” said Cori Rutherford, Vice President and General Manager of Par-A-Dice, noting the resolve and focus of team members who worked through an ever-changing post-COVID landscape. “While we are always thankful for our team members, we wanted to do something extra special for them to let them know how grateful we are for them.”
The aroma of traditional Thanksgiving dishes, clamor of plates and warm chatter of friends had more than 150 team members stop by for a meal at the property on November 18 (one week before the Thanksgiving holiday). They gathered to fill their plates with specially prepared turkey, ham, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, whipped sweet potatoes and soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls. Dessert included a hearty slice of pumpkin, pecan or chocolate pie. Each team member was gifted an apple-scented candle after the hearty meal.
It was a group effort to make “Worksgiving” a successful event to honor the hard work of Par-A-Dice team members who make the property run well by providing guests with an exceptional entertainment experience and creating a positive work environment. Managers and team members from each department spread the word about the event and offered to help as needed.
“The team really enjoyed it and we were very happy to be able to make them smile,” said Rutherford.
